With a strong tourism development, but fortunately with respect to the traditional residential environment, Portaria offered us a first "strong" flavor of the villages of Pelion. Great and pleasant surprise was the streets of the village, which we walked and especially the marked path of the Centaurs, much of which we followed. Standard Pelion and quite picturesque main square, it certainly can walk and do not forget to pass by the church of Panagia of Portaria (11th century), in which -in a ekdochi- owes its name to the village. The source Manas, cataracts Karavos and Adamainas squares and Archangels are points that deserve more or less of your time, like Athanassakio Kindergarten, the first in Greece, Zoulias Mansion, the Tsopoteio Sholarhio where current school houses the Monastery of Panagia Odigitria within walking distance of the village.
