At night, now, choose one of the many wine bars with the amazing local wines. On the southeastern side of the Grand Harbour are peninsulas Vittoriosia and Senglea with their castles, fascinating region of the Three Cities (Vittoriosa, Senglea and Cospicua), the Inquisitor's Palace, the Maritime Museum and Fort Ricasoli, which have been filmed several Hollywood blockbusters (such as "Troy" and "Gladiator"). The small observatory at the end of Senglea peninsula is popular attraction due to its excellent view.
The suburb Paolo (2 km. Southwest of Cospicua) is worth a visit because of the important archaeological sites: Tarxien temples and underground necropolis Hal Saflienti Hypogeum was discovered in 1902 (it is advisable to book before you even arrive in Malta). The most important archaeological sites of the island also includes temples Ggantija (in Gozo) and Hagar Quim (village Qrendi).
